OLA Best Practices
AuthorityLoan.com is committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency, ethical lending, and regulatory compliance as set forth by the Online Lenders Alliance (OLA). As a marketing and lead generation platform, we connect consumers with a network of reputable lenders while ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
Industry Best Practices
AuthorityLoan.com follows the Online Lenders Alliance (OLA) Best Practices to promote transparency, consumer protection, and responsible marketing. We are not currently an OLA member, but are committed to these standards and intend to pursue formal membership as our business grows.
- Providing full disclosure of loan terms, including annual percentage rates (APRs), fees, repayment terms, and applicable penalties, in a clear and accessible format.
- Offering a reasonable loan cancellation policy that allows borrowers to withdraw from a loan within a defined period, subject to lender terms.
- Prohibiting misleading or deceptive marketing practices, including false claims such as "Guaranteed Approval" or "Instant Funding."
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state lending laws, including the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and other consumer protection regulations.
- Protecting consumer privacy and data security, following regulations such as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable data protection laws.
- Processing loan payments only with the borrower's authorization, ensuring compliance with federal laws governing electronic transactions.
- Treating consumers fairly and with respect, enforcing ethical lending and debt collection practices within our network.
A full list of OLA Best Practices can be reviewed on the OLA's official website: https://www.onlinelendersalliance.org.
Lender Monitoring and Consumer Complaint Process
AuthorityLoan.com actively monitors lenders within its network to ensure compliance with OLA standards. Our monitoring process includes:
- Periodic compliance audits of lenders to verify adherence to ethical lending practices.
- Customer feedback mechanisms that allow consumers to report lender behavior.
- Immediate review of complaints related to unfair lending practices, with corrective actions taken when necessary.
Consumers who wish to file a complaint about a lender can do so by contacting us directly. Each complaint is investigated, and if a lender is found to be non-compliant, they may face penalties, removal from our network, or other corrective actions.
Our Role in Compliance and Consumer Protection
Although AuthorityLoan.com is not a lender and does not make credit decisions, we take proactive steps to ensure that all lenders within our network meet OLA's best practices. Our compliance measures include:
- Regular monitoring of participating lenders to ensure their adherence to ethical lending standards and consumer protection laws.
- Requiring lenders to disclose full loan terms before a consumer agrees to a loan.
- Providing consumers with the ability to opt out of marketing communications and data sharing, in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Ensuring consumers have access to loan details before finalizing any agreement, promoting transparency in lending.
If you believe that a lender in our network has violated fair lending practices or engaged in deceptive conduct, we encourage you to report the issue promptly.
